  (2024·合肥市二模,C)

Traditional businessmen feel worried that growing ecommerce will reduce their share of the

  market.

According to a survey, 90% of some people's purchases are made on the computer. As they

find that by being able to go online and choose the things that they need to choose, and have them

delivered right to their doorsteps, they could no longer be bothered with driving, the crowds, the

noise of that, and they usually get a better selection.

Cornell University Marketing Professor, MeLaughlin says traditional stores can keep their

customers by offering goods like clothing, which customers may want to see and try on before

purchasing, as well as items that are difficult to ship. He says some traditional stores are also

pleasing customers with services that set up or repair computers and electronics.

Traditional stores also offer a social experience that some shoppers enjoy. There is still a lot

of emotion in the buying decision that takes place. Oftentimes, you need that last sense of “this is

exactly what I want” before you part with money. And you can't always get that online. It's a

  rather cold process.

As more and more people have Internet access and smart phones, online commerce is likely

to continue its growth here in the United States and in other countries.

It takes more than just practice to become an Olympian. Gold medal performances require some serious nutrition. Have you ever wondered what these successful athletes eat to stay in peak shape?

Keri Glassman, a registered dietitian and founder of Nutritious Life Meals, appeared on“Good Morning America”today to give you a glimpse into the diets ofsome top athletes. Some of their meals could surprise you.

  Crazy Calorie Count

Glassman said Olympians eat a lot of food—quantities that for ordinary people would constitute pigging out. One secret of swimmer Michael Phelps’ astonishing performance in the 2008 Olympics in Beijing was consuming as many as 12, 000 calories in one day.

Athletes can eat like this and not gain any weight because their workouts are intense. According to Glassman, Phelps’ workouts can burn 4, 000 to 6, 000 calories in a day, and those calories must be added in order to train the following day.

  Snacking Secrets

Some athletes eat strange foods that improve their performance. Yohan Blake, the Jamaica sprinter and 100-meter world champion, has stolen champion sprinter Usain Bolt’s thunder on the track during the Olympic trials. Asked about how he gets his energy, Blake answered that he eats 16 bananas per day, Glassman said.

Jonathan Horton, the lead gymnast on the US team, has a blood sugar problem. His solution is honey. When he starts to feel shaky at the gym, he takes honey to boost his energy, Glassman said.

  Foods for Recovery

What are the best foods to help the body recover after harsh competition?

For Olympic swimmer Ryan Lochte, the recovery meal is grilled chicken breasts with Alfredo sauce, whole-grain spaghetti and a salad with lemon juice and olive oil. Lochte, who recently cut out junk food, candy and soda, has undertaken a strength-training regimen(養生法)that involves flipping tractor tires and tossing beer kegs, Glassman said.

閱讀理解As the thrills of the London 2024 Olympic Games fade, the focus now is on the 2024 Olympic Games in Brazil. Over the next two years it hosted the FIFA Confederation Cup in June 2024 and will host the FIFA World Cup in 2024. Brazil has taken steps to increase the economic profits by safeguarding the interests of broadcasters and funders.

In 2009, the Brazil passed the Brazilian Olympic Act and the so-called World Cup Law in 2024, which are designed to fight ambush(隱性)marketing and digital piracy(盜版), and regulate advertising in and around official sporting sites.

The Brazilian World Cup Law goes much further in protecting the interests of right owners than Brazil’s pre-existing legislation(立法)in this area, the so-called Pele Law. For example, the World Cup Law bans anyone but the official broadcaster from using images of events. However, it does permit use for non-commercial purposes. It also requires that FIFA or its local broadcaster provide highlights up to two hours after each match. Other items allow protection of trademarks associated with the event and ban unauthorized association with the event’s marks.

The Pele Law permits, as an information right, both access to sporting sites and the use of images for journalistic purposes. It is, however, unlikely that such an understanding will be gained in relation to the World Cup Law which governs access to and use of images specifically in relation to the FIFA World Cup 2024. Although the Brazilian Olympic Act regulates the IP(知識產權)relating to the 2024 Olympic Games in Rio, it remains silent on broadcasting rights.

Whatever the benefits, it seems clear that IP rights in general, and broadcasting rights in particular, will continue to play a key role in bringing in funds. If past experience is anything to go by, Rio 2024 not only promises new sporting achievements, but also the breaking of new records in terms of profits produced from the sale of broadcasting and other media rights.

  【文章大意】文章主要介紹了巴西保護知識產權的World Cup Law和Pele Law。

  1. The 2024 Olympics .

  A. promises to break many records

  B. will experience challenges in funding

  C. promises to be the greatest in history

  D. will bring great benefits to Brazil

【解析】選D。推理判斷題。根據第一段的Brazil has taken steps to increase the economic profits by safeguarding the interests of broadcasters and funders. 可知, 巴西將會從2024年奧運會中獲得經濟增長。故選D。

  2. The World Cup Law and the Pele Law are different in that .

  A. the former is stricter than the latter in protecting IP rights

  B. the World Cup Law allows the media more freedom to use the images

  C. the former applies to advertising while the latter marketing

  D. the Pele Law bans more unauthorized association with the event’s marks

【解析】選A。推理判斷題。根據第三段的The Brazilian World Cup Law goes much further in protecting the interests of right owners than Brazil’s pre-existing legislation in this area, the so-called Pele Law. 以及下文可知, the World Cup Law比the Pele Law在保護知識產權方面更嚴厲。

  3. The passage mainly talks about .

  A. the advances that Brazil has made in hosting sporting events

  B. the efforts that Brazil is making to protect the interests of IP right owners

  C. the preparations that Brazil is making for the 2024 Olympics

  D. the challenges that Brazil is facing in investment to fund the sporting events

  【解析】選B。主旨大意題。文章主要介紹了巴西的保護知識產權的World Cup Law和Pele Law, 這說明了巴西正在在保護知識產權方面做出努力。故選B。

  4. The writer’s attitude toward Rio 2024 is .

  A. indifferent B. positive

  C. negative

  D. unclear

【解析】選B。觀點態度題。根據最后一段的Rio 2024 not only promises new sporting achievements, but also the breaking of new records in terms of profits produced from the sale of broadcasting and other media rights. 可知, 作者對Rio 2024充滿希望。故選B。

  A,B,C或D四個選項中,選出最佳選項。

Food sometimes gets poisoned with harmful things. A person who eats such food can get an illness called food poisoning. Food poisoning is usually not serious, but some types are deadly. The symptoms of food poisoning usually begin within hours of eating the poisoned food. Fever is one of the most common symptoms.

Certain microorganisms(微生物) cause most types of food poisoning. Bacteria and other microorganisms can poison eggs, meat, vegetables, and many other foods. After entering the body, these tiny living things release(釋放) poisons that make people sick.

Some chemicals can also cause food poisoning. They are often added to food while it is being grown, processed, or prepared. For example, many farmers spray chemicals on crops to kill weeds and insects. Some people may have a bad reaction to those chemicals when they eat the crops.

Some plants and animals contain natural poisons that are harmful to people. These include certain kinds of seafood, grains, nuts, seeds, beans, and mushrooms.

When people handle food properly, the risk of food poisoning is very small. Microorganisms multiply rapidly in dirty places and in warm temperatures. This means that people should never touch food with dirty hands or put food on unwashed surfaces. Food should be kept in a refrigerator to stop microorganisms from growing. Meat needs to be cooked thoroughly to kill any dangerous microorganisms. People should also wash food covered with chemicals before eating it. Finally, people should not eat wild mushrooms or other foods that grow in the wild. Some of these foods may contain natural materials that are poisonous to humans. In addition, some types of fish can be poisonous.

Most people recover from food poisoning after a few days of resting and drinking extra water. If people eat natural poisons, they must go to the hospital right away to have their stomachs emptied.

  A. are always accompanied by a fever

  B. are too common to be noted

  C. can be noticed within hours

  D. can be ignored

  3. Food poisoning can be caused by all the following EXCEPT .

  A. some chemicals B. low temperatures

  C. some tiny living thingsD. certain natural materials

  4. From Paragraph 5, we can learn that .

  A. mushrooms should not be eaten

  B. vegetables are safer than meat and seafood

  C. natural poisons are more dangerous than chemicals

  D. different types of food should be handled differently

  5. It can be inferred from the passage that .

  A. natural materials are safe in food processing
