閏日 leap day

今天是2月29日，是只有在閏年中才渡過的四年一遇的“閏日”。另外，2月29日也是“國際女性表白日”，這一天女性可大膽向男性表白，并且原則上要求男性必須答應。如果男性不答應，理應付給女性一定數量的傷心補償費。

今天是“閏日”，也是幾個世紀以來形成傳統的女子主動向男子求婚的日子。

文中的leap day(又名intercalary day)，就是指“閏日”，是一個專有名詞，指的是為調整calendar year(歷年)/calendar month(歷月)長度，使之接近tropical year

通俗的講，地球圍繞太陽運轉一周的time interval

另外，2月29日這一天還是“國際女性表白日”。據說，早在1288年，蘇格蘭就確定2月29日為“婦女權利日”。當時的瑪格麗特女王頒布法令，宣布這一天女人可以向男人make a proposal
