because連詞，連接兩句話，because of介詞短語，后接詞或短語 He didn't go to school because of his illness.

表目的，in order that后接句子，in order to后接動詞原形 I got up early in order to catch the first bus. I got up early so that I could catch the first bus.

for example一般只列舉一個，such as列舉多個例子 I have been to a lot of American cities, such as New York, Atlanta and Chicago.

表過去常常，和現在相對應用used to，不提現在用would I used to get up early, but now I don't.

當如此以至于解時，suchthat修飾名詞，sothat修飾形容詞或副詞，但名詞前面如果有many, much, little, few修飾用sothat，不用such that

也一樣，肯定用so否定用neither (nor) ---I can't play tennis. ---Nor can I.
